Jamisen Paustian grew up playing outside, swimming in lakes, and making snow forts in Madison, Wisconsin. After graduating from The University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development & Family Studies and a minor in Studio Art, Jamisen got her RYT-200 Hour Yoga Certification with an emphasis in Children's Instruction through Cloud Nine Yoga School and Breathe for Change. Professionally, Jamie has worked with children for over fourteen years in a wide variety of settings and roles. She spent four years teaching preschool in Lincoln Park and spent the past year serving as an AmeriCorps Member in a public elementary school with Schools of Hope in Madison, Wisconsin. Jamie moved back to Chicago in August of 2021 to start a Master's program in Art Therapy & Counseling at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. In her free time, she is a watercolor painter, an amateur pianist, a tree-hugging vegan, and an aficionado of children’s literature. Most importantly, she has a strong passion for working with children, to help them grow as individuals, discover themselves and others, and explore the world we live in.
